We REGISTERED!

Phillip and I spent Friday registering for the baby! I figured that it would maybe take an hour at Babies R Us...ummm, almost 4 hours later, we finally were too tired to add anything else and finally left the store. Basically, I figured out how little we know about babies and baby products. There were a million options for everything and the people who work there know very little about anything. Phillip is more worried about where we are going to put all of this stuff. I am more worried about what we really need and how to figure that out.

I think the funniest part was Phillip's obsession with the baby bottles. He really worried about each option, brand, shape, color, etc. It was rather funny at first. But 30 minutes later, I just told him to scan it and lets move on. Who knew there were so many options??? Later on, we were talking to a friend and were informed about silicon vs. latex nipples...WHAT? Good thing Phillip didn't see this option or we would still be there.

Phillip and I also decided that we were going to try and keep the battery operated toys at a minimum. Some are inevitable. And I am quite impressed with all the things that toys do these days. But that's the problem, the toys do all the entertaining. The baby just has to sit there and watch it. It seems to me that it probably doesn't enhance the babies imagination if it just gets entertained rather than being able to entertain itself.

We were planning on using an adorable jenny lind type cradle that my grandmother owns for the first few weeks/months. Well, along with everything else in her house...It has gone the way of the dodo bird - most likely never to be seen again. So we have registered for a bassinett at PBK (Phillip actually picked it out and wanted it on the registry...Crazy!). I am not sure if we really need it or not. I am thinking not, but its just too cute.

I think this is how we both felt by the end of the registering process...
