I love Chick-Fil-A...BUT today was one of those days that they should put a sign on the door that says, "DO NOT come in this place if you don't have a small unruly child that has no manners and you're only parenting plan is to teach them to be as low class as you are." My mother and I had to sit in the "kid section"...You know, the place between the counter and the play gym area where you can stare through the glass and watch your kids (that is, if you care about the safety of your kids...because most of the parents I observed had their backs to the glass). Let's make this clear - We sat in the "kid section" because it was overly crowded in the only other sane area of the restaurant. Big mistake. I sat with my back to the glass and my mother sat watching the kiddies kill each other in the name of "fun".
My first observation was a mother with her son (sitting in front of me to my left). The mother and son were sitting at a half booth/half table and both were sitting on the booth side. The son was sitting on top of the booth seat actually. The booth backed up to the condiment area near the counter. Because of the way the booth and condiments were made, he was sitting so high up that his feet rested on the very top of the booth seat. Yes - his feet! And no shoes. So his nasty 6 to 8 year old feet were sitting on the booth and then stretched out on the table in front of him. Yuck! He would rub them up and down his mother's arm and then rest them on her shoulder. Again, yuck! She didn't even flinch. She would put her hands on his feet and toes and pick at him and then pick up a chicken nugget and shove it in her mouth. YUCK! This went on for most of our meal until she started slapping his legs...not because he needed to be taught that you don't sit on top of booths, put your feet where they don't belong, or do any of this in public, but because she wanted him to hurry up and finish his food so they could leave. In the middle of all of this, I turned my head to the right to hopefully find another view).
To my right...I turn my head to see this cute little baby. Within a minute of looking that direction, the mother pulls up her neon yellow top to show us her large boobies. She shoves her baby into her chest and then sits there like its no big deal. OMG is all I have to say.
In the middle are just another bunch of parents that seemed to not really care and completely look past their kids terrible behavior or either wanted to commit suicide because they had kids from hell.
I am so over it.
