Nursery Update

Things are finally getting done with the nursery! We bought the crib in January and have had it assembled and sitting in the room ever since. We bought the crib mattress soon after and its just been hanging out in the box. The dresser/changing table came in last week! The goal was to have the room painted so that when the furniture was delivered, it could be placed in the room and never to be moved again. We even paid a slightly higher delivery charge so they would unpack it and place it in the room rather than at the door. The crib bedding also came in last week which is really making it evident that everything was waiting on paint.

Well, my painter is being held hostage...So even though the paint color has been chosen for weeks now, no paint has gone on the walls. Someone recommended another reliable and trustworthy painter last week, I called, he came out same day, gave me an estimate, and we set up a painting date for this Wednesday (today) to get started. In the meantime, Phillip knocked out all the shelving in the closet and then has been prepping and sanding the walls in the closet for paint. We spent a few minutes last night cleaning out the room which always amazes me how much stuff we have already! In the cleanup, Phillip and I had to move the dresser/changing table to another room which is rather annoying that we paid someone extra money to move it to the right room in the first place - At least it wasn't an armoire or something huge. The paint is going up as we speak (or rather as I blog)! I have ordered the new closet organization system which is going to be delivered next week, so Phillip can spend all his extra time outside of work and class installing it (hahaha...!). And I am going to buy some baby hangers soon so all the clothes that we have been given or purchased can be hung up when the closet is ready! Things are coming along...FINALLY! The goal is to have as much accomplished as possible before our baby shower on April 18th!
