My list of projects are slowly being crossed off the long list. The major ones are almost behind us now - thank goodness! But I still have quite the list ahead of me before my April 17th deadline. The major accomplishments have been the painting the nursery (hired out of course), the bedding came in, and the closet system was installed. Tomorrow, the lighting fixture and the closet light will be installed! After that, we will be waiting on the bookcase and the glider to arrive. Plus, a few little minor things that need to be done such as trim touch-up, pictures hung, and things generally organized and put away. I am hoping to have everything in its place before April 17th so we can easily and more efficiently put our shower gifts away after that weekend.
We have been hard at work on our yard and have spent most of our Saturdays cleaning it up. I can't generally do the back breaking yard work so I spend my time power-washing, cleaning the pool, and planting flowers in pots (and, of course, running back and forth to Home Depot). But Phillip, my dad, and Teddy have been slaving away at the actual yard work. Our backyard isn't finished, but it already looks amazing! I can't believe what they have accomplished in such little time. Hopefully, this coming weekend will be nice so we can lay sod and wrap it all up. It looks so good now and I know it will only look better next year when all the new plants have a chance to fill out and mature. Soon, it will be just about maintenance rather than the constant work, which I think Phillip is most excited about!
My other projects such as cleaning out the guest room and garage are going to be underway this week. It will just be a little here and there. I don't understand how Phillip and I accumulate so much stuff! But our give-away pile keeps getting bigger and bigger!
